About

An independent notebook on Spain.

The practical and the pleasurable sides of the country, written for people who are moving here, thinking about it, or travelling slowly enough to want more than a top-ten list.

Spain Notebook began as a set of notes kept while working out how to actually live here — the visa paperwork and the long lunches, the rental market and the regional festivals. It grew into a small publication for everyone trying to do the same thing.

What we cover

Our writing is organised into four sections: Living in Spain for relocation, visas, healthcare and cost of living; Regions for place-led guides; Guides for the practical how-to; and a Journal of shorter, first-person notes.

How we work

Everything is researched, dated, and updated when the facts change — especially the bureaucratic details, which in Spain have a habit of shifting. Where we share figures we say when they were last checked. When something is opinion or lived experience, we say that too.
